Après-Ski in Les Deux Alpes: The Best Bars, Clubs and Late Nights
Les Deux Alpes has one of the liveliest après-ski scenes in the French Alps, and it starts before you’ve even taken your boots off. With bars both on the mountain and along the 2km village strip, there’s a genuinely wide range — from big-terrace, DJ-led party spots to quieter pubs for a low-key pint. Here’s how to plan your evenings.
Straight off the slopes: mountain bars
Pano Bar, perched at 2,600m, is the resort’s altitude institution — open from the first lifts with DJs from mid-afternoon and panoramic views that make it worth the trip even without the party. It’s the spot for a last run finishing with a beer on the terrace rather than heading straight down.
Village level: the main strip
La Grotte du Yeti is the long-running centrepiece of village nightlife — big groups, international DJ sets and a reliably packed dancefloor most nights of the week. Smithy’s Tavern and Umbrella Bar both sit at the friendlier, more all-ages end, combining food, live music nights and sports screenings with a lower-key vibe earlier in the evening before things pick up. La Rhumerie has been a village fixture for over 30 years and is worth a visit purely for its quirky, globe-trotting decor.
Clubs and late nights
Most bars get going properly from around 10pm, with clubs staying open to 4-5am. Expect happy hours from 4-7pm across most venues, and a cluster of pre-dance bars along the main street that fill up before the later crowd moves on to the clubs proper.
Travelling with kids?
Several bars run a genuinely family-friendly early evening — think board games, hot chocolate and homemade crêpes before 8-9pm — which makes an early aperitif with children entirely workable before parents swap over for a later night out. See our family guide to Les Deux Alpes for more on balancing a lively resort with a family trip.
Getting back safely
The free resort shuttle runs the length of the village into the evening, so wherever you’re staying — see our guide to the best areas to stay — you’re never far from a lift back to your accommodation.
