You will not go hungry in Val Thorens there are places to eat all over the resort. However eating out in the resort can be a little expensive even at a relatively cheap resort like Val Thorens. So for the self catering holiday makers the supermarkets are ideal. They are dotted around the resort right from the bottom by Temples all the way up to the top at Balcons. Just off the top of our heads we can count 8 good sized supermarkets so you won’t be far from one. In our experience the Spa (as in ‘so near so spa’ and not the Jacuzzi Spa) located next to the entrance to the Sports Centre is the cheapest. Our best tip if you are driving (as mentioned in our Driving to Val Thorens page) is to stop off at Moutiers or Albertville and stock up with as much as you can. It is a lot cheaper down the mountain than in resort. There are also bakeries dotted around too, including the award winning 2007 top bakery in France which is located in the Montana area (see map of where it is).
